Car Rental for Foreign Tourists in Pakistan: What to Know
Visitors arranging car rental in Pakistan should separate three questions: who will drive, which places the vehicle will cover, and what the agreed price includes. Huzaifa Enterprises accepts requests for local, intercity and Northern Areas vehicle-and-driver travel. Self-drive has separate document and security requirements and needs approval before handover.

Choose the level of support you need
A vehicle with driver can simplify pickup coordination, navigation and parking when you are unfamiliar with the area. It still needs an agreed schedule and itinerary. Tell the team whether you need only an airport transfer, several days of city transport, or a longer journey with overnight stops. A driver booking should not be assumed to include a tour guide, attraction tickets or hotel reservations.
Self-drive may suit an eligible visitor who prefers independent travel and can satisfy the rental requirements. Do not choose it on the assumption that an overseas passport makes approval automatic. Read the service comparison and discuss your customer category, licence and intended journey with the company before committing to a collection date.
Prepare self-drive documents before arrival
The published policy requires overseas Pakistani and foreign self-drive customers to provide a valid passport with an active visa or visa/stamp permitting their stay in Pakistan, a valid driving licence, and a security cheque equivalent to the vehicle value. Verification and approval still apply. Ask the company to explain how you can meet those requirements before planning around a rental car.
A rental company's document check is separate from confirming the legal validity of a particular overseas licence for your circumstances. This article does not determine licence recognition, immigration eligibility or permit rules. Resolve those questions with the relevant authority where needed and tell the rental team what documents you hold. Do not send sensitive document images through a channel the team has not confirmed.
Arrange the first pickup with flight and contact details
For an airport arrival, provide the flight number, arrival date and local arrival time, destination address, passenger count and bags. Check that you have interpreted an overnight flight's date correctly. Agree a reachable mobile or WhatsApp contact and the process for locating the driver after leaving the terminal.
If you expect to rely on airport connectivity before obtaining a local connection, discuss a backup meeting arrangement in advance. Ask about waiting and changes if the flight is delayed; do not assume unlimited waiting or automatic tracking. Use the airport-transfer guide to prepare the request, and obtain confirmation of the meeting point from the team.
Agree the itinerary beyond the arrival city
List each overnight destination and any excursions beyond it. The published Northern Areas service is vehicle-and-driver travel for 1–15 days, with customer accommodation excluded. Travel days are part of the vehicle booking; hotels and sightseeing should be arranged around a realistic schedule reviewed with the team.
Do not assume the vehicle can use every connecting road or that access rules are identical for all visitors and destinations. Ask how current route access and any visitor requirements will be checked for the intended dates. The Northern Areas service can be used to discuss the plan, but a general destination listing is not approval for an exact route or side trip.
Understand the quotation and payment in PKR
Ask for a written quote stating the vehicle, dates, service hours, places covered and inclusions. Check which currency and payment method are accepted before sending money, especially from an overseas account. Request payment instructions through the company's confirmed contact channel and keep the payment record with your booking confirmation.
With-driver reservations require a 20% online token after availability and final price confirmation, with the remaining amount due at service start. Self-drive uses a different rule: full agreed rental payment at collection before keys are handed over, following verification and paperwork. Monthly corporate arrangements have separate advance terms. Do not combine these rules into a single deposit policy.
Separate vehicle hire from travel expenses
Normal chauffeur hire generally leaves fuel, tolls and applicable expenses with the client. Standard quoted out-city drops have different inclusions; Northern Areas fuel and tolls are paid separately by the customer. Ask about driver food and accommodation for overnight journeys as well as your own hotels. A low daily vehicle rate alone does not show the full trip cost.
- Confirm the exact model or vehicle category and whether a substitution needs agreement.
- Count large suitcases, cabin bags and passengers before choosing the car.
- Put planned stops and return transport into the quotation.
- Ask about waiting, overtime, extra days and cancellation before payment.
- Discuss accessibility, child seating or other equipment without assuming availability.
Keep local coordination practical
Use confirmed hotel addresses and share the name and number of the person meeting the driver. For a group arriving on different flights, say whether separate pickups are needed. Keep essential trip and contact details accessible offline. Check each day's plan with the driver and contact the booking team before making changes that affect price or duty hours.
Submit an enquiry through the central booking form with your dates and itinerary. Review the rental policies and the team's confirmation before considering transport arranged. A complete request helps the team distinguish a straightforward transfer from a multi-day transport plan and explain any unresolved requirements before your arrival.
