Rental payment and security serve different purposes. Keep a clear written record of both.

The short answer: Huzaifa Enterprises requires a vehicle-value security cheque for self-drive. Full agreed rent is paid at handover before keys. Confirm your customer-specific documents and the return process before collection.

What Is a Car Rental Security Cheque?

A security cheque is a cheque provided as security for responsibilities covered by the rental agreement. It is separate from the fee you pay to hire the car. Before providing one, ask the company to explain the required amount, the recipient, the written conditions and the acknowledgement you will receive.

Three terms are worth keeping separate. The rental fee pays for the agreed use of the vehicle. A security cheque is an instrument held under the security arrangement. A refundable cash deposit involves money paid and potentially returned under stated terms. They are not interchangeable, so ask for each item to be named clearly in your quotation.

Why Do Car Rental Companies Require Security Cheques?

A self-drive customer takes responsibility for a valuable vehicle during the rental period. Rental businesses may use security arrangements to support obligations relating to damage, missing items or unpaid charges. Those arrangements should be explained alongside the customer’s responsibilities, rather than presented as a routine formality to skip over.

Providing a cheque should not be described as giving a company unlimited permission to collect money. Read the agreement for the circumstances in which security may be used and how a charge is recorded. At Huzaifa Enterprises, damage and outstanding liabilities are dealt with under the signed rental agreement. Ask about any unclear clause before you sign.

How Much Security Is Required?

Huzaifa Enterprises requires a security cheque equivalent to the value of the rented vehicle for self-drive hire. Confirm the vehicle and the value used for this requirement with the booking team. This does not mean you pay the vehicle’s full value in cash as rental charges.

Security arrangements and eligibility are subject to company approval. Discuss your customer category, available documents and proposed rental before travelling for collection. If you are comparing cars, check the security requirement for the actual vehicle you intend to receive rather than carrying forward an assumption from another model.

Rental Payment vs Security Cheque

For self-drive rentals, the full agreed rental amount is paid at vehicle handover before you receive the keys, after the document checks and paperwork. The vehicle-value security cheque remains a separate requirement. Paying the rent does not replace the security requirement, and providing a cheque does not pay the rent.

The published policy does not state a fixed refundable cash-deposit amount. Ask the team to identify the approved security arrangement clearly. Your confirmation should show the rental period, total rent and security requirement separately, so you can prepare the right payment and paperwork without confusing one with the other.

Keep rental payment, security and return settlement separate.

Documents and Guarantor Requirements

Tell the team whether you are a Pakistani local customer, an overseas Pakistani or a foreign visitor. The document checks differ, and an early conversation makes collection easier. Confirm which supporting evidence the company accepts and make sure the customer and intended driver details are correct.

Pakistani local customers

  • Original valid CNIC.
  • Valid current driving licence in the customer’s own name.
  • Security cheque equivalent to the vehicle’s value.
  • A local guarantor who is a business owner or a government employee in BPS-16 or above.

Ask which supporting documents are accepted for the guarantor before arranging collection.

Overseas Pakistani and foreign customers

  • Valid passport and applicable identity documents.
  • Active visa or visa/stamp permitting the stay in Pakistan, as applicable.
  • Valid driving licence for self-drive.
  • Vehicle-value security cheque, with the arrangement checked and approved before handover.

The published local-guarantor rule is stated for Pakistani local customers. Ask the team about your own category rather than assuming the same rule applies to every overseas or foreign customer.

Use the Self-Drive policy to check the full requirements. Discuss document handling with the team; do not upload cheque, CNIC or passport photographs into ordinary enquiry notes.

How the Self-Drive Rental Process Works

Start with your dates and travel plan, then work through the requirements before collection. A booking enquiry helps the team discuss availability and eligibility; it is not a vehicle reservation on its own. Keep the final quotation and agreed arrangements together so both sides are working from the same details.

  1. Choose your vehicle and dates

Browse the fleet, share your pickup and return dates, and explain the areas you plan to visit.

  2. Confirm the requirements

Agree the documents, applicable guarantor and security arrangement before making plans to collect the car.

  3. Review the agreement

Read the rental period, payment, use, damage and return terms. Resolve questions before accepting them.

  4. Complete the handover

Pay the agreed rent before keys, obtain acknowledgement of security and record the vehicle’s condition.

  5. Return and settle

Attend the inspection, check outstanding obligations and follow the agreed document and security return process.

Seven Security Cheque Safety Precautions

Good records help everyone understand the arrangement. Take time over these checks, even when you are eager to start your journey. If a detail is unclear, pause the handover and ask for a written explanation.

  1. Confirm the recipient

Ask for the correct recipient details and who is authorised to receive the cheque and original documents. Make sure they match the company’s instructions.

  2. Understand the cheque details

Discuss the amount, date, recipient and any written instructions before completing the cheque. If you need guidance about how your bank handles a cheque, ask the bank directly.

  3. Avoid unclear arrangements

Do not leave the purpose, amount or conditions to an informal understanding. Ask for the approved security arrangement to be recorded with your rental.

  4. Obtain an acknowledgement

Request a written record identifying the security and documents received. Keep it with the booking confirmation and agreement.

  5. Check the signed agreement

Read the sections on damage, fines, permitted use and settlement. Ask how any proposed charge will be explained and supported.

  6. Keep payment and handover records

Retain receipts, the agreed dates and condition records. Do not send banking details or identity-document photographs through general booking messages.

  7. Confirm the return process

Ask who handles inspection, how outstanding items are settled and how documents and security are returned. Keep the answer with your agreement.

Cheque markings or a receipt should not be treated as a guarantee against misuse. Clear instructions, complete records and an agreement you understand are more useful than relying on a phrase you have seen online.

What Happens When You Return the Vehicle?

Return at the agreed date and time and allow for an inspection with the company. Compare the vehicle’s condition with the collection record, including any pre-existing marks and items handed over with it. Keep the conversation specific: identify the issue and the record being used to assess it.

Fuel and mileage may be checked as part of the return record. Huzaifa’s published self-drive policy has no mileage limit. The reading is part of the vehicle-use record. Check the applicable fuel-return terms in the Policies page, including the separate treatment of out-of-city drop-offs.

Review any outstanding rental charges, fines, damage or other liabilities under the agreement. If you disagree with an item, ask for its basis and supporting evidence, and record what remains unresolved. Documents and security instruments are returned after safe vehicle return and settlement of outstanding charges or liabilities, subject to the rental agreement. Confirm the process rather than assuming a fixed return deadline.

What If You Cannot Provide a Guarantor?

If the local guarantor requirement applies to you and you cannot meet it, contact the team before travelling for collection. Explain your circumstances and ask whether your proposed arrangements can be approved. Do not assume that paying more rent or bringing a different document automatically removes the requirement.

If self-drive is unsuitable, request a With-Driver rental quotation. The company’s driver operates the vehicle, and that service has its own payment and duty terms. Compare the complete journey and service requirements so you choose an option that works for you.

Is a security cheque the same as rental payment?

No. Full agreed self-drive rent is paid at vehicle handover before keys. The vehicle-value security cheque is a separate requirement.

Do I need a guarantor to rent a car?

Documents and security instruments are returned after safe vehicle return and settlement of outstanding charges or liabilities, subject to the rental agreement. Confirm the process before collection; no fixed number of days is stated here.

Can overseas Pakistanis or foreign tourists rent a self-drive car?

They may apply with the required passport, applicable visa or stay documents, valid driving licence and vehicle-value security cheque. Eligibility and the proposed security arrangement require company approval.
